The idea of holding this Workshop materialized in implementation of one of the most important and major function of Ministry of water and Electricity about increasing the awareness of the electrical power Efficiency. Pursuant to the Ministry continuous directives to enhance its input in saving power. Ministry of Water and Electricity is started executing new studying project aimed to find new designs for the air-conditioners suitable for the hot climate with high efficiency, because of the fact which said that AC consumed about 70% of the consumption power in residential building; Proceeding from the Ministry's keenness to utilize local and international experience in this field, this workshop will concentrate particularly local and international experiences in conformity assessment for ACs according to the standards and technical regulations and energy efficiency and labeling requirements; and to benefit locally from the mechanisms adopted in other countries.
